Edition “Genesis”
Auftragsarbeit
This project was ordered by the episcopal vicar of the Austrian armed forces, Dr. Harald Tripp.
With the photo project “Genesis” the artist focused for the first time on a religious subject. With his unmistakeable minimalistic and puristical
style he presents the beholder the Genesis as described in the first book of Moses.
He consciously leaves space for personal interpretation and discussion on the basis of three different approaches:
- the natural scientific approach of “explanation”,
- the philosophical approach of “understanding” and the
- the religious approach of “amazement and gratitude”
GENESIS is the first part and is to present in minimalistic form the seven days of Creation. It is consciously minimalistic, the development of
modern times is compared to the GENESIS.
The second part of the exhibition consists of photos in the style of Alfred Stieglitz and is entitled “Skies”. With a look to the clouds and the skies
the artist is trying to visualize what is inapprehensible, random, unpredictable.
The third part, “Jardin d’Eden”, deals with the notion of “Paradise” and the human desire for it. The photographs depict small details of the flora
and its beauty.
What has Man done with his world? How does he influence the rhythm of nature and what does he change intentionally or unintentionally by that?
What consequences do his actions have? How do they determine the future of the planet? Many questions.
